Ski Center "Ravna Planina"

Location and Overview

Ski Center "Ravna Planina" is located in the village of Gornje Pale, 20 kilometers from Sarajevo and two kilometers from the center of Pale. Ravna Planina has long been known as a popular picnic area near Sarajevo and is a frequent choice for its citizens for weekend or day trips. Due to its proximity to the Olympic mountain Jahorina, the opening of the ski center at Ravna Planina has added even more appeal to the area, attracting many tourists with its natural beauty.

Ski Trails and Facilities

Ski Center "Ravna Planina" offers 12.5 kilometers of ski trails, all arranged according to the highest standards. The main trail is 1,400 meters long and has received homologation, meeting all international standards for hosting FIS (International Ski Federation) races.

The ski center features a ski lift with a capacity of 800 skiers per hour, a ski kindergarten with a baby lift, and a gondola (cable car) for transporting skiers and other visitors.

Plans for Summer Activities

In addition to its diverse offerings during the winter season, Ski Center "Ravna Planina" is planning to develop into a full-fledged recreation center. Plans for the summer season include bike trails, hiking trails, zip lines, swimming lakes, and many other activities to enjoy the natural surroundings.

The Miljacka Spring

Near the ski center is the source of what many describe as "the smallest river with the most bridges"—the Miljacka River, a subject of many songs and literary works. The most beautiful part of it is the Miljacka Spring. It is less known that the Miljacka is formed by the merging of two rivers, the Paljanska Miljacka and the Mokranjska Miljacka, in the village of Dovlići.

The main spring is located on Ravna Planina. It is rich in drinking water and covered with tufa and moss, sculpted into beautiful shapes. Situated under the walls of the old fortress Gradina, the spring features numerous waterfalls and cascades, making it a picturesque spot perfect for photography.

Local Cuisine

Near the spring, there are two fish restaurants that serve freshly caught trout, adding a special charm for visitors who are captivated by the beauty of this place where the Miljacka begins.
